I wanted to play with the idea of a "real life" place or scenario made out of fabric and "not so real life" creatures, which is why the sky is made of denim and the birds are made of felt :) I wanted it to be fun and lighthearted.

This image is definitely a good theme for the season. It reminds me of this afternoon when I was shooting a friend of mine in a garden in Clayton. I heard all these different birds chirping and it was very relaxing. I would say that this image is definitely very soothing
ReplyDeleteI really like the background on this, it looks like denim but I could be wrong. I also think the shadow on the tree makes this picture a lot better, because without I’m not sure there would be any depth to it.
ReplyDeleteLooks like a beautiful spring day. Interesting use of the found object to replace a part of the original image. The cartoon birds are funny and fit well next the the denim.

ReplyDeleteThis really makes me think of my grandmother's quilts and has a kind of patchwork feeling to it for me. A very homey, soothing, and relaxing vibe, like it just belongs.

ReplyDeleteI think the fabric kind of bird really looks sweet, and the jean texture in the background really matches with the whole feeling and the atmosphere. I think it would be nice if the birds were a little bigger so that I could get a closer look. The green and the blue of the jean have fun and sweet feeling together. I really like it !

ReplyDeleteI love the images and how the little stuffed birds look on the real tree, especially how the sizes change to give an idea of smaller and larger birds and creating distance on the image. The denim looks great as the background.

ReplyDeleteReally nice configuration to place the birds. I love the deninm jeans as background, looks even cozy. I believe the hard part was to do the selection or to pick the right tree.
ReplyDeleteI like the way you expressed the sky using scanned denim. The background of demin really goes with the birds that made of fabric. I get fresh feeling from harmony of colors, green from trees and blue from th sky.

ReplyDeleteSoothing picture interesting how the birds are not you’re ordinarily birds it gives the feel of being a design for a t-shirt because of the eyes on the birds are buttons.
